Job Description

SUMMARY
The Warehouse Employees’ job duties may vary within the warehouse operation. Functional areas may include: shipping, receiving, scanning, stocking, issuing, pulling, loading, and inventory of automotive parts, supplies, and equipment. Warehouse employees are responsible for the accurate manual and non-manual movement of freight, stock, or other materials and parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
2. Ability to continuously lift 20 lbs; frequently lift 40 lbs and occasionally lift 60 lbs.
3. Ability to stand continuously, walk continuously, handling and grasp continuously, reach outward and above shoulder continuously, climb frequently, bend continuously, squat or kneel occasionally, sit occasionally and crawl occasionally.
4. Receive and process orders; review orders for completeness and clarity. Fill in missing information or contact the customer for any needed information.
5. Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected
6. Read work orders and must be able to read and transcribe numbers up to twelve digits, learn and retain abbreviations. Ability to receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs. Read orders to ascertain part numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise.
7. Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
8. Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
9. Push and pull pallets of merchandise using pallet jack.
10. Ability to work together with others in a team environment, cooperate and coordinate well with co-workers.

Marginal Job Duties
1. Perform other incidental and related duties as required or assigned.
2. Keep work area clean and neat. Sweep floors, dust shelving, pick up trash.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES
Ability to follow direction and work well within a team environment. Must be able to meet production goals, to meet customer service demands. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with co-workers, management and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic math skills required ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to accurate count and record data.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and verbally communicate with co-workers, management and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Repetitive bending and stooping
• Repetitive lifting – up to 60 pounds
• Repetitive placement and removal of plastic totes filled with parts off and on conveyor belts
• Standing for long periods of time between breaks
• Extensive walking
• Frequent retrieving and stocking, carrying and moving of merchandise
• Use of a scanning gun for up to 2 hours at a time
• Ability to read and transcribe numbers up to twelve digits
• Ability to learn and retain abbreviations
• Ability to read policies, instructions, orders
