Job Description

Duties:
The Registered Nurse is considered a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes. Takes initiative when collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and coordinating the patients plan of care. Demonstrates actions consistent with Ochsners Expectations as duties are performed on a daily basis; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions. Maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the Department of Nursing strategic goals and objectives. Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports Nursing Departments philosophy of nursing.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing, with current Louisiana licensure. CPR Healthcare Provider Certification required.

Computer experience preferred.
Must have positive customer relations skills.
