Welds parts and sub-assemblies to specifications and/or prints. Changes or replaces wire, nozzles, contact tubes.Checks results for conformance to print and/or specifications. Records data and/or keeps records for quality, maintenance, and/or preventive maintenance, SPC, etc. Works from prints, samples, sketches or verbal instructions.Determines proper power settings and/or wire feed for manual welding. Regulates gas flow as necessary for electric manual welding. Checks results for conformance to print and/or specifications and makes necessary corrections.Advises on the design of welded joints as they affect welding technique, strength of weld and cost. Performs quality checks visually or with the use of gauges and/or measuring devices. Participates in safety training.Accountable for safe work practices according to established plant safety policies and procedures. Contributes and participates on a work team including maintaining and analyzing team performance metrics as directed by Technical Associate.Performs semi-skilled production activities. Utilizes individual or team efforts, identifies existing and/or potential operation problems, generates possible solutions, evaluates those solutions through decision analysis, recommends an optimal solution and implements that solution with approval. Performs special project work as needed.Job Requirements
Previous weld experienceThe ability to determine proper power settings and/or wire feed for manual weldingThe ability to regulate gas flow as necessary for electric manual weldingPreventive maintenance and adjustments to equipmentInstructs and assists other team members. Moves and positions loads.Cleans work area and performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.Performs quality checks visually or with the use of gauges and/or measuring devices.Participates in safety training.Accountable for safe work practices according to established plant safety policies and procedures.Location: Thibodaux, LA
