PSA Healthcare is seeking bilingual Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to work as a school nurse.

The School Nurse is responsible for providing various client related services to assist in meeting health needs of students and reducing absenteeism in the schools.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Attending the students Health Plan development meetings when applicable
• Obtaining and recording all oral and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure readings, as well as height and weight when indicated.
• Enforcing and following School Board Policy for head-lice screenings, detection, school dismissal, and clearance for returning to school
• Screening for hearing and vision as clinic flow allows
• Administering basic and minor first aid as needed
• Accurately documenting services provided in accordance with agency policies and procedures on the day of the services are rendered.

Job Requirements

Description of Requirements:

To be considered for employment by PSA Healthcare for this Opportunity, you must be able to meet the following requirements, with or without accommodation.

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Current and unrestricted LPN license to practice in the state for which you are applying
• Current CPR certification
• Current Continuing Education if required by state
• Diploma or certificate from state accredited LPN program
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Ability to speak Spanish fluently

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting and repositioning of patients
• Repeated or prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, twisting and occasional climbing of stairs
• Acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of touch, smell and taste
• Agility and strength sufficient to handle patients and equipment without assistance
• Must be able to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations in the home or during transport
• Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other health conditions
