Role Description:
This position is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Welder - is responsible for all processes related to welding parts and components to all pumps and decoking equipment. The welder follows instruction from a router and welding procedures to perform the welding process. Uses inspection equipment to check dimensions of all critical components and translates the number (in decimal) form to the appropriate inspection form related to the pump. Ensures all components are properly cleaned and free from foreign material following our FME (Foreign Material Exclusion) procedures. Ensures all forms and documentation are completed prior to releasing the part from the welding department. This position reports to the lead and Production Supervisor, located at our Deer Park, TX facility.
Primary Accountabilities:
1. Follow pre-job brief and all check lists prior to welding a part.
2. Follows all routers and welding procedures for instruction
3. Uses stick, Mig, or Tig weld in accordance of the type of weld to apply
4. Maintain welder log and all certifications
5. Uses preheat instructions when applicable
6. Fabricate tooling and hardware as a part of continuous improvement of the facility
7. Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures
8. Coordinate and interface with sales, operations, engineers, and customers as necessary
9. Exhibit behavior that contributes toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision- making, problem solving, and continuous improvements.
Job Requirements
AccountabilitesDemonstrates a good working knowledge of welding equipment functions and servicing. Works closely with other welders to provide technical assistance for tooling related issues. Demonstrates working knowledge of the process flow of parts through the manufacturing /repair process.Demonstrates good knowledge of welding procedures for each material application. Demonstrates working knowledge of processes necessary to complete all assigned task within the production schedule and routing time. Capable of reading prints and drawings.Demonstrates an advanced ability to communicate all manufacturing processes to peers and supervisors.
Requirements
High school diploma and/or GED equivalent. Certification through formal technical training or certification of previous qualifications required. 5 years of job experience using the required welding processes and equivalent materials.Must be able to work in a team environment. Good knowledge of reading and understanding detailed drawings and blueprints. Good communication skills. Strong self motivation, willingness to learn and strong work ethics.Must be willing to work overtime
