Process Engineer- Chemical at Houma

Job Description:

An industry leader in specialty chemicals has an immediate need for a Process Engineer in their Louisiana facility. This particular individual will develop and design basic and detailed new projects as well as modifications to existing facilities. The Process Engineer should have a vast knowledge of process simulations, energy and material balances.

Responsibilities:

• Calibrate plant operating problems
• Cultivate process simulations and materials & energy balances
• Fabricate process designs for new equipment installations
• Work with operating data from multivariable analysis from multiple units
• Pinpoint energy saving projects and technologies
• Determine process improvement opportunities
• Communicate, coordinate and report work activities and progress

Requirements:

• BS in Chemical Engineering
• 5-7 years experience in process engineering in a manufacturing environment where the individual has had hands on experience with process engineering responsibilities
• A concentrated background in chemical engineering methods, troubleshooting and unit operations design
• Strong background in engineering software (Aspen preferred), data analysis and statistics
• Basic understanding of heat exchangers, vessels and pumps
• Ability to work in a team environment that supports chemical manufacturing operations
