Electrical Technician at Haynesville

• The Electrical/Electronic Technician is a journeyman level position and the incumbent must be a self starter with the ability to work in a team environment or independently as the work load requires.
• The technician is responsible for a variety of work assignments that involve PLC programming, configuration and troubleshooting as well as the troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing and inspection of low and medium voltage electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls for all areas of the Haynesville Terminal.
• The nature of the job requires the technician to work with minimal supervision and have some mechanical and the corrosion expertise.
• The technician must respond to call outs, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime and at times perform additional duties due to operational upsets, construction projects, emergencies and other unusual situations.
• The technician is expected to exhibit professionalism and perform all duties in a safe and proficient manner consistent with Sun Pipe Line policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Moderate to strong PLC experience including programming, troubleshooting and configuration of Allen – Bradley PLC5, ControLogix and MicroLogix processors.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting and repairing medium and low voltage motor starters, cables, terminations, switchgear and associated protective devices.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting, repair and start-up of motor-operated valve actuators.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting, repair and calibration of a variety of analog, digital and discrete instrumentation including pressure transmitters, pressure switches, flow transmitters, flow switches, temperature sensors/ transmitters and solenoid valves.
• Familiarity with flow computers, orifice plates, positive displacement meters, radar gauges, fiber optics and ethernet communication equipment is also a plus.

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

Strong PLC skills. Familiarity with high voltage (4160 and under) starters. Familiarity with motor-operated valve actuators. Extensive knowledge and experience with Variable Frequency Drives.
