We have a position available for an Operations Supervisor at our site in Bourg, LA.

Summary: Supervises the daily operation, cleaning, treatment, disposal and maintenance of an E&P waste treatment facility. Assures compliance with established environmental, regulatory, safety, operating standards, policies and emergency response procedures.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, Trade School or GED required. Some college preferred.
  • At least three years operations experience and some lead experience with thorough knowledge of the methods and techniques used in a similar environment utilizing heavy equipment.
  • Exposure to shift scheduling cost control, safety, environmental and facilities/capital equipment management.
  • Demonstrates leadership ability and ability to coordinate resources (personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, funds and reputation).
  • Demonstrates effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports.
  • PC skills with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, multi-task environment and ability to adapt to change.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.


Work Environment: Spends 50% of time in operations environment and 50% of time in office environment. May need to work outside in inclement weather conditions and drive company vehicle to perform duties. Occasional travel for training or meetings.Exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, chemicals, machinery, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.

Physical Demands: Amount of time spent - Standing 25%, Sitting 50%, Walking 25% While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Nephrology nursing is a specialty practice addressing the protection, promotion, and optimization of the health and well-being of individuals with kidney disease.  The nephrology nurse coordinates care in collaboration with other care providers and health team members to plan and provide required care as effectively as possible.  The nephrology nurse acts as a patient guide and advocate, assisting the patient in seeking information, assuring that the patient has the opportunity for informed consent for treatment decisions, and promoting the maximal level of patient-desired independence. 

  • Primes dialysis machines and dialyzers and is capable of executing special takes related to dialysate bath, sodium variation,isolated ultra filtration, etc. Performs machine alarm, conductivity, dialyzer and other 4 required safety checks prior to initiation of Hemodialysis.
  • Reviews current treatment flow sheet data, patient and medication reminders on assigned patients prior to initiation.
  • Collects objective and subjective data pre and post dialysis, including vital sighs, general patient condition.  Recognizes abnormal findings and reports to  the Charge Nurse.  Demonstrates competence according to Nursing Service policies/procedures.
  • Observes adequate functioning of Hemodialysis machine and other equipment.  Responds to alarm condition, trouble shoots and reports problems to Charge Nurse.
  • Collects, handles and labels specimens of body fluids/secretions.  Performs specific test relative to patient needs. (i.e. blood glucose determination and  other reagents tests).  Recognizes abnormal findings and reports to the Charge Nurse and physician.
  • Gathers equipment and effectively prepares patients for tests and treatments.  Assists other Registered Nurses and/or physicians with minor procedures  on the unit, i.e. central or femoral line insertion by positioning and holding the patient and/or proving required equipment.  Maintain central line.
  • Observes and records changes in patient’s condition.  Communicates to the Charge Nurse and physician any unusual or significant changes in patient’s condition immediately.
  • Administration of Na Saline and Heparin prior to initiation of treatment.
  • Administers medicine including but not limited to EPO SQ.
  • Cleans dialysis machines and chairs between patient and at end of shift.

 

Tour of Duty:  The tour of duty will be Monday - Friday with rotating late shifts and call. 

 

Grade and salary for these positions will be determined by the Nurse Professional Standards Board (NPSB).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

 ·  Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.

 

·  Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:  The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).  In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. 

o  The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing.  Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. ·  Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. 

Education/Experience Requirements: 

·  Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, no experience.

·  Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and no experience; or a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and no experience.

·  Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of experience; or a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of experience, or a Masters degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no experience.

·  Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of experience, or ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years experience or a Masters degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years experience, or a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no experience. 

·  Nurse III - Masters degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 years experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field and approximately 2-3 years experience. 

GRADE DETERMINATIONS:

Experience as a RN will be evaluated to determine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following four dimensions of nursing: Practice, Professional Development, Collaboration and Scientific Inquiry. Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel.

SWITCHING FUNCTIONS: Operate track switches and derails to change routing of engines or cars within yards or on the road. Check switch points to make sure switch is properly aligned. TRAIN AND EQUIPMENT INSPECTIONS: Make decisions about switching, spotting cars and making up the train. Observe and monitor track conditions (e.g. broken rails, defective switches, weather-related problems). Inspect cars in conformance with Federal Railroad Administration Regulations. Observe the condition of passing train and report results to appropriate personnel. The Warehouse Employees’ job duties may vary within the warehouse operation. This is the place to do your lifes best work.The purpose of this job is to partner with Network Management and CCI through the contract creation, execution, submission, load, audit and test of facility and ancillary contracts including fee schedules. The Contract Management Expert (CME) will support critical reviews to ensure demographic, credentialing and contract accuracy prior to submission. The CME will play an active role through the load and audit process with CCI as well as be accountable to review audit results and participate in post installation activity in relationship to claim audit and maintenance. The CME will also be accountable to manage and submit all Rate Escalator and Chargemaster updates to CCI on behalf of Network Management.Individuals in this role will be directly accountable for the quality and timeliness of hospital/ancillary contract submissions as well as ensure minimal to no rework associated with the installation of the contract into the applicable claim platforms. Responsibilities include:-Managing facility/ancillary contracts assigned for both Commercial and Government products, including validation of demographics, credentialing and system accuracy prior to installation in applicable systems.-Validate Emptoris contracts before execution to ensure correct templates are used; terms are accurate and ensure executed contracts can be administered in all applicable systems.-Validate Non Emptoris contracts before execution to ensure terms are accurate and ensure executed contracts can be administered in all applicable systems.-Manage rate escalator and chargemaster maintenance including tracking, calculation of adjustments, and creation of payment appendices to support the change, working directly with Network Pricing and Network Management for review and approval and submission of the contract for installation to systems. Ensure timely submission for all rate escalators assigned.-Manage service code maintenance for assigned contracts to ensure contracts are updated within Emptoris as well as working with CCI to ensure appropriate systems are updated to reflect the changes.-Coordination with quality audit team both pre and post implementation to ensure accuracy of contract loading and claim payment accuracy based on contract intent.-Minimize claim rework associated with incorrect facility/ancillary contract set up.-Build and maintain relationships with Network Management and CCI to ensure results are obtained and maintained.

    Job Requirements

    Requirements:- Experience with provider contract load and audit role.- Experience in claims processing, provider data maintenance, contracting, or contract loading.- Intermediate level of proficiency with all facility/ancillary contract reimbursement methodologies.- Experience with claims systems.- Strong knowledge of business processes that impact facility/ancillary contact loading and auditing.- Experience with contract submission, validation and maintenance.- Excellent communication skills required including ability to communicate effectively with various levels of leadership- MS Office (Excel).
