BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY
Under the Direction of the HSE Director. The HSE Director provides direction to the Safety Department. Oversee, monitor, and assist HSE personnel in safety, training, and promoting all aspects of the Safety Management System (SMS) throughout the company.
*** Promote Safety as a positive aspect of the overall safety process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Participate in Incident/Injury investigations including the preparation of RCAs.
**Document (SIRS Database), oversee data is in database, and close out action items.
10. Participate in HSE meetings routinely.
11. Assist in injury management as needed.
12. Ensure Safety Alerts and HIPOs are communicated and documented in a timely manner.
13. Ensure pro-active efforts are captured monthly and reported (training, safety meetings, audits, etc.).
14. Assist in emergency situations as needed or as trained to do so.
15. Maintain knowledge of safety documents and manuals on MyFranks.
16. Oversee safety incidents and other non-conformances are imputed into the SIRS database.
17. Special projects as needed as it relates to HSE.
21. Assist in maintaining a smooth flow of information within the Safety Department as well as to key management personnel, customers and line employees.
18. Utilize a visible commitment to safety, use positive reinforcement, make one-on-one contacts to discuss safety with management and line personnel.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- High school diploma.
- Certification in HSE (COSS, CSP, ASP, CSHO, etc.)
- Organizational and computer skills necessary.
- Formal Safety Instructing / Training or Degree helpful, but may be substituted based on experience.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and
fingers, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk;
sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
